Brief Summary

Princess Snow Kaguya wants to freeze the Earth as part of her collection. She loses a piece of her ship that she can use to freeze the Earth. It falls to Earth, where Kakeru, an idealistic scientist, finds it.

The main focus of the movie, though, is Luna's struggle over loving Kakeru, a human male, while Luna is a cat; she loves him because he saved her from being hit by a car and nursed her back to health when she was sick. The senshi are in the meantime just hanging around on winter vacation when the Snow Dancers start attacking people and freezing them. They transform and attack the Snow Dancers then everything is back to normal, or so they think.

Himeko is introduced as Kakeru's former girlfriend, and though she still cares for him, she, like everyone else, thinks his ideas about a princess on the moon are ridiculous, and he gets angry at her for saying so. She tells him that she is going on an expedition to the moon, and he remains angry, so she leaves. Luna realizes that she loves Kakeru, inquiring to Usagi about what a kiss is like.

Kaguya, however, discovers where the missing piece is, and so she goes to Kakeru's home, while Usagi and Luna watch outside after Luna tells Usagi about how she loves Kakeru, but since she's a cat she can't tell him how she feels. Taking the piece, Kaguya laughs as both she and Luna realize that Kakeru is linked to the piece, and that he'll die from an energy drain. She disappears, and Luna says that they have to save Kakeru.

Kaguya is about to freeze the Earth when the Outer Senshi confront her, then the Sailor Team arrives. All of the Sailor Senshi get beat up, and then Sailormoon appears. Kaguya tells them what her plan is, and Sailormoon turns into SuperSailormoon, and they fight. SuperSailormoon is overcome, but says that she'll use the ginzuishou to continue battling Kaguya. The other Sailor Senshi say that they'll help her so that she won't die; Chibimoon and Tuxedo Kamen arrive, and Tuxedo Kamen fights off the Snow Dancers while Chibimoon joins the other senshi. They combine their power with the Holy Grail, using "Silver Crystal Power" to defeat Kaguya.

Supersailormoon asks the Holy Grail to make Luna a human for one night, and it does. Luna poses as Princess Kaguya, the one that Kakeru dreams about, and she gives him hope and energy to survive. At the end, Kakeru and Himeko make up, and Luna is happy that Artemis cares very much for her.

New Powers

• Silver Crystal Power: The combined energy of all the Sailor Senshi in combination with the Holy Grail. It's used to destroy Kaguya's plans of domination over Earth.

Movie Song

• Moonlight Destiny: This song is sung by a non-seiyuu singer at the end of the movie during the credits.
